SOLITON OPENS DOORS TO LONDON OFFICE

NEW YORK, April 2nd, 2002 – Financial software systems developer, Soliton Associates, today announced a series of corporate developments including the opening of a London office; the hiring of Carl Jones, a former sales manager with Reuters who will run the new Soliton UK-based operation; and a re-focusing of TimeSquare Solutions. Targeted to middle-office, back-office and research departments of financial services firms, TimeSquare automates the acquisition workflow for a variety of periodic data from multiple market data vendors, and delivers it automatically or on request to other databases, remote servers or
end-user applications.

"Carl is an experienced salesman recognized for his business development successes while at Reuters," said Soliton Associates Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Nancy Lamb. "We’re very pleased to have his talents driving the expansion of TimeSquare in the UK and the rest of Europe." Mr. Jones sold Reuters Solutions, historical and reference data products during his 12 years with the global information provider. In 2001, Mr. Jones was named "Top Baron" for his achievements.

The 4th floor London office at Broadgate Court (199 Bishopgate) adds to Soliton’s existing organization in Europe consisting of an operations(technical) office in Coventry, and a sales office in Copenhagen run by Benoit Paquin. Both Jones and Paquin report to Lamb, who splits her time among Soliton’s North American offices in Rochester (NY), Toronto and New York.

"Soliton offers tremendous value in TimeSquare; I’m convinced there’s a strong market for it in London among organizations that have much to gain from deploying it," said Mr. Jones. TimeSquare operates within a firm’s existing architecture and can source many types of data, making it the most flexible and least complex in-house solution available to financial institutions for managing market data workflows. A market data vendor-neutral system, TimeSquare also interacts with industry standard systems and networks.

Recognizing the market’s positive reaction to its packaged workflows for major data feeds, Soliton has also just recently split away the "back-end" data collection piece of TimeSquare, and aimed it specifically at acquisition workflows. This new offering, TimeSquare ACQUIRE, consists of ready-to-use workflows, schemas and loaders packaged to deliver major market data feeds such as Reuters DataScope, FT Interactive SIRS, International Dataline, Bloomberg and Compustat. TimeSquare Market Data Server, a relational database for market data, now focuses on the repository, data manipulation and bridges to the
end-user-based SQL.

TimeSquare Solutions are available on Sun Microsystems or IBM Unix platforms, and accessible from Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT desktop clients using MS Excel, Query, Access and other ODBC compliant applications. A Web server option also supports standard browsers.
