Boston/New York/London —March 18, 2002—OmgeoSM, the leading trade management services provider, today announced the expansion of the Omgeo STP Partners Program with the signing of SimCorp, the leading European provider of sophisticated investment and treasury management systems, bringing the number of STP partnerships to 38. SimCorp’s investment management system, TMS2000, will interface with Omgeo Central Trade Manager (Omgeo CTM), the global solution for central trade matching, offering real-time settlement instruction enrichment and settlement notification messaging, all in a secure and scalable environment.
SimCorp’s TMS2000 provides true straight through processing to the internal investment management process to encompass the front, middle and back office functions. Omgeo CTM will enable this automation to be continued after the trade has been placed by enabling central matching – straight through processing between the fund manager and counter parties to the trade – the broker and the custodian - both for domestic and cross border trades. With SimCorp’s client base being primarily based in Europe, this strategic partnership will enable Omgeo to bring the benefits of STP to some key European markets, including Germany and Scandinavia as well as the UK.
In addition, the partnership will enable Omgeo’s clients to benefit from SimCorp’s investment management system, TMS2000, which combines true straight through processing with broad instrument coverage and risk management.
With a single integrated database and the ability to handle financial instruments in a consistent way, TMS2000 significantly improves the efficiency of investment management organisations, while enabling fund managers to use an increased number of instruments at reduced risk.
