Sage has appointed Bill Hill as vertical market development manager to spearhead strategic initiatives aimed at capitalising on the substantial
business opportunity in selected vertical markets for Sage Line 100, Line
200 and Sage Enterprise. In addition to this, Bill will also be responsible
for forging new alliances with 'best of breed' vertical market add-ons,
which are not currently based upon the Sage back office platforms.

Bill has extensive finance, logistics, service, marketing and sales
experience in developing vertical markets, having worked for 16 years at
Hewlett Packard in a selection of senior management and channel roles,
including his most recent as UK General Manager for the SME sector.

Commenting on the appointment Nigel Hudson, managing director of Sage's New
Business Division, said: "I am delighted to announce Bill's appointment. He
understands the challenges we face of achieving continued growth in selected
vertical markets by developing and aligning our products, and is experienced
enough to help us achieve it. He will also ensure we build on the existing
work already done by resellers so that are products fit more accurately with
customer requirements."

Bill, who trained as an accountant, said: "I am delighted to be joining Sage
at such an exciting time. The Sage product portfolio is the ideal platform
from which to develop business solutions for specific markets, such as
