Summit Stands Behind Financial Institutions in Wake of WTC Attack

New York, NY, September 20, 2001 – In the aftermath of the devastating terrorist attack on this city’s financial center, Summit Systems acted quickly to restore business and technical support to the New York-based branches of major financial institutions that rely upon Summit software.
Herve Baulme, CEO, issued the following statement: "On behalf of Summit, I want to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to all the victims of this horrible attack and their families.

"Everyone of us, in every Summit office around the world, believe a good way to help ourselves gain perspective on this tragedy is to do whatever we can to help the New York financial community regain a sense of normality." To this end, Summit’s Emergency Response Team led by Kathy Perrotte in New York quickly and successfully executed our disaster contingency plan. Our London and Paris offices handled the immediate needs of our New York clients during the time it took to bring our backup facilities in Manhattan and New York State online.
"As firms work around the clock to restore their New York operations, those that rely upon Summit software for their day-to-day trading, risk management and back office activities have been able to count on us for business and technical support. I am very proud not only of the efforts of Summit’s New York team, but of our parent company, Misys plc, and our sister company, MKI. They provided all of the additional human resources, materiel and office space in New York City needed for Summit’s rapid resumption of business operations. As for our clients, we will spare no effort to help them as they continue to restore critical financial services to their customers."

Allen Whipple, managing director of Summit’s New York Business Center, added: "Although Summit’s New York offices at 22 Cortlandt Street were in close proximity to the Twin Towers, all of us were able to evacuate the area safely. However, I mourn the loss of friends and colleagues in the World Trade Center. All of us here at Summit knew people there, and we struggle to come to terms with the events of that day."
"I wish to express my heartfelt sympathy for everyone affected by the events of last week. But with hard work and dedication, New Yorkers and the financial community as a whole will not only rebuild, but emerge from this crisis with renewed strength and purpose."
