Braxxon Technology Ltd Appoints Board Member

We are delighted to announce that Mike Powell joined us on 1st February as an Executive Director of Braxxon Technology Limited and is immediately appointed to the Board.

Mike graduated in Engineering from Oxford University continuing his studies in the USA where he obtained a MSc in Operations Research from Cornell University. Whilst at Oxford he gained half blues in athletics and water polo representing the University against Cambridge. Mike recently relocated with his wife and two teenage sons from Warwick to Poole in Dorset.

His business career started with seventeen years at IBM United Kingdom Ltd., initially in systems and programming and subsequently in sales and marketing. The last three years with IBM were as Branch Manager, West Midlands. 1985 saw Mike join Coopers and Lybrand and three years later he was appointed Director- in-Charge of their Central Region Consultancy practice. Elected by his fellow partners onto the Council of Partners in 1989, the focus of Mikes team of 700 C&L employees was IT strategy consulting with the firms major clients. Headhunted onto the Oracle UK board in 1993, Mike spent a year building their consultancy group before joining Digital Equipment Corporation to assume responsibility for over 1,100 consultants with an objective of improved profitability. This achieved, Mike was given all of Digital’s direct sales force in the UK with the brief to improve yield per head and grow absolute volumes of business. Once successfully achieved, Mike was appointed Vice President of Business Development, Europe.

Mike joins Braxxon from OSI Group where he was active in the integration of two acquired businesses and with managing the rapid growth of OSI to £50M turnover and £5.8M PBT. During the past year, he was a key member of the team seeking new financing for the Group, resulting in the sale of the business to FI Group plc for £120M.
