Cognotec, the world's leading provider of e-commerce foreign exchange and money market dealing solutions, has announced that Fortis Bank has become the first institution in the Benelux to implement its flagship AutoDeal LITE e-commerce platform. Fortis Bank, a leading bank in the Benelux region and one of the top thirty banks in the world, has adopted the Cognotec AutoDeal LITE service to power the bank's new online foreign exchange and money market dealing system 'Click 'n Deal'.
Fortis Bank will use 'Click 'n Deal' to service its corporate clients based in the Benelux and to connect sales centres in France, Italy, Portugal and Spain to its main dealing room in Brussels. This roll-out forms part of the bank's strategy to expand its customer base in southern Europe. It is also likely that AutoDeal LITE will be used by the bank to offer 'Click 'n Deal' to customers in Asia and the Americas in the near future.
'Click 'n Deal' forms the first stage in Fortis Bank’ progressive strategy of web-enabling several of its Financial Markets services in the coming months. Online foreign exchange dealing was launched in November, with several more services following shortly.
"Cognotec's services have become the benchmark in the provision of e-commerce dealing solutions. We wanted to come to market as soon as possible while providing a solid and professional service to our customers and Cognotec was the best choice. Now we have become the first bank to offer online foreign exchange trading in the whole Benelux region", said Jos Dekeukeleire, Director of Sales for Financial Markets.
"That the first bank in the Benelux to offer online foreign exchange trading is also the first bank from the region to adopt Cognotec AutoDeal LITE speaks volumes about the levels of acceptance the Cognotec e-commerce trading services now enjoy among the international trading community. We look forward to many more leading European institutions following in Fortis Bank's steps", said Stephen Butcher, Managing Director for Europe at Cognotec.
