Overview

Logica’s Central Securities System (CSS) is an award-winning, robust, tried and tested securities settlement system. It allows organisations to maintain holdings of dematerialised government securities at the level of the individual owner of those securities. Furthermore, it makes the settlement of securities transactions simple, efficient and low cost.

CSS has a strong record of integration with real time gross settlement (RTGS) systems, such as Logica’s CAS, to support Model 1 DvP (delivery versus payment) in line with international standards and best practice. This ensures that there is a simultaneous exchange of funds and securities, which eliminates the risk that funds may be transferred without the corresponding movement of securities. In addition, CSS has automated facilities for liquidity provision in RTGS, which allows banks to use their securities holdings as collateral during the day.
