Overview
Equation is an integrated, multi-currency, multi-lingual retail banking system, with support for all areas of the bank's operation from a single automation platform.For Retail operations, there is a comprehensive set of host retail applications and support for relationship banking. Retail branch automation is provided by the Equation branch banking platform. Equation can also be interfaced to ATM and point-of-sale networks, to electronic banking systems and to clearing systems. For Corporate Banking, support for banking services is complemented by commercial lending, efficient payment processing and a sophisticated trade finance application. For Treasury operations, the system handles foreign exchange, money markets, FRAs and interest rate swaps, and marketable securities. Equation Front Office includes a deal capture and position keeping system and market risk management. Thus Equation provides an unrivalled set of applications and interfaces to support the whole range of retail banking operations. At the core of the system is the global database. This is fully relational and SQL-compatible. The Core Management System maintains the database and provides a set of common services used by the various applications in the system.
