Motor and property insurance provider, Sky Insurance Services Group is to upgrade its software system to Transactor Version 7 following a successful full data migration to Transaction Version 6.3.2 from SSP last year.
The migration saw a new hosting provider, a new motor website, new third party integrations and a telematics solution, whilst adding a range of additional bespoke and OMR schemes. This latest upgrade will see a host of new features, services, integrations, and toolsets coming on stream to underpin the next phase of Sky’s growth.
Mike Daly, Proprietor and Director of Sky Insurance Services Group said, “We know where we want to take our business and with Transactor have a technology partner that has demonstrated the expertise, commitment, and vision to help us achieve our objectives. When you move your business from one platform to another there are going to be bumps in the road but the results have been more than worth the effort and we are now moving into a new phase of the game where we can start to get our ideas in front of our customers quickly and affordably.”
Ray Vincent, Chief Executive Officer of Transactor Global Solutions Limited (TGSL) said, “There will be a lot of work carried out around Sky’s e-trading objectives, and many other key deliverables have been identified as being on the roadmap for 2017 including enhancements to core aggregation and non-standard niche aggregation areas. We look forward to working with Mike and his team to ensure that wherever they want to take their business, we are fully behind them to make sure their technology keeps pace with their vision.
“Making the jump to a new platform is a difficult decision for any business to make. There is the challenge of running ‘business as usual’ on the old platform, whilst at the same time keeping up the momentum on the new world activity. We understand the challenges and issues a business faces whilst switching software providers and have helped a variety of clients change providers over the last few years.”
Sky Insurance Services Group offers a very wide range of insurance products with a strong element of non-standard sub-classes, but ‘vanilla’ products also fall into the general mix. In Private Motor, Sky offer products for Standard, Modified, Performance, Imports, Car Club, Track Day, Hybrid/Electric, Young/Learner Driver, and most recently, Telematics markets. Sky also offers commercial vehicle insurance, including specialisms in courier and haulage, with a growing motor fleet book. On the property front, besides standard buildings and contents, italso has specialised solutions for buy to let, unoccupied, and second homes.
TGSL’s out-of-the-box Motor, Commercial Vehicle, Bike, and Property data captures are more than capable of supporting non-standard and standard business. It also offers non-personal lines business classes out-of-the-box for products such as motor fleet and SME commercial. Vincent concluded, “We have got all these schemes and business classes live at Sky over a period of time that allowed their business to continue to function, whilst the new business classes and markets came on stream. It’s a balancing act, but we are well practised at it now, and it’s great to see the momentum and growth Sky have achieved in the last 12 months in particular.”
