Weswit, a global leader in real-time Web streaming solutions, announces its new Startup Program to provide promising new businesses with Lightstreamer technology.

Lightstreamer is the most advanced platform for real-time bi-directional data delivery over the Web. It is already used in several mission-critical production systems, as well as in entertainment applications, where high scalability, low bandwidth usage, smart firewall traversal, adaptive throttling, and total reliability are key requirements.

“Smart tools are mandatory requirements to transform a good idea into a great success”, said Mauro Fantechi, co-CEO and Chairman of Weswit. “Many promising start-ups need real-time data streaming for their ideas to take off, but they simply can't afford the additional investment in the early stages. We think that if some companies are given the chance to thrive, we can thrive with them: that's why we decided to offer Lightstreamer only to a few, valuable start-ups every year”.

“The Startup Program is a way Weswit can help young entrepreneurs become top players", said Alessandro Alinone, co-CEO and CTO of Weswit. “We were a start-up too, so we know how difficult it is to set up all the pieces of the puzzle to get the new business started. We want to provide new companies with full peace of mind for the real-time aspects of their applications. If they succeed, we succeed.”

Being admitted to the Startup Program means that any edition and configuration of Lightstreamer can be used for any purpose, including production and development, with no limitations, for a maximum period of eighteen months, including full support and maintenance. Any company with less than one million Euros in annual revenue or any new company in its first fiscal year can qualify. All desktop and mobile technologies are fully supported, including HTML, JavaScript, iOS, Android, Flex, Silverlight, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Java, and .NET.

Recently, Weswit was recognized as a Cool Vendor in Application and Integration Platforms for its Lightstreamer product in a report published by a leading analyst firm on April 11, 2012. Lightstreamer technology has been supplied to many financial institutions, as well as aerospace, military, energy, gaming, sporting, and entertainment companies.
