edge IPK, the provider of edgeConnect, an insurance industry user experience platform (UXP) designed to provide the optimal user experience to any insurance user, through any device, browser, and language, today announced that Ecclesiastical Insurance (Ecclesiastical), a specialist financial services provider with a focus on charity, care, education, church and heritage sectors, has selected the edgeConnect user experience platform (UXP). edgeConnect was chosen to help Ecclesiastical enhance its existing systems by enabling a modern and easy-to-use online presence. edgeConnect will allow Ecclesiastical to extend the use of it policy administration system to any and all authorized users, creating an ideal user environment for policy transactions.
edgeConnect will also enable Ecclesiastical to deliver new multi-channel distribution capabilities by taking advantage of edgeConnect’s ‘configure once – distribute anywhere’ model. The first channel planned for production use is Ecclesiastical’s broker community.
The edge IPK solution will be integrated with Ecclesiastical’s Insure Plus (I+) Administration System, allowing Ecclesiastical to achieve a greater return on previous technology investments, while also benefiting from the agility a UXP provides: rapid delivery of high quality user experiences, regardless of the user, device, channel, browser or language.
Commenting on the edgeConnect decision, Mike Burnup, Ecclesiastical’s IT Director, said “Ecclesiastical has a long term vision of becoming a fully web enabled business. With edgeConnect we will now have a way to maximize the benefits from our back-office investment and extend their reach to online users. edge IPK has provided us with a user experience platform that not only enables us to enhance the user experience for our customers, but also allows us to get products to market at a speed which will give us a significant competitive advantage.”
Wendy Aarons-Corman, edge IPK’s North American President said, "The user experience can be a key differentiator for insurance companies like Ecclesiastical, and can make the difference when it comes to gaining a new customer or keeping an existing one. Many insurers still rely on legacy platforms that are unable to provide a quality online user experience, if an online experience at all. While legacy systems are often built on old and inflexible technology, they still get the back-office job done for many insurers. By extending the legacy system’s usefulness and life with a modern user experience, insurers get the best of both worlds -- solving a legacy challenge and providing functionality, information, and easy access to all users, whether customers, employees, partners, distribution channels, or vendors.”
