BNY Mellon boutique appoints Sebastien Poulin

Newton*, part of BNY Mellon Asset Management, has announced that it has strengthened its Global Fixed Income team with the appointment of Sebastien Poulin as a high yield analyst.

Poulin joins Newton from Standard and Poor's, where he was part of the Corporate Ratings Group, EMEA Telecom, Media and Technology Analytical Team. He joined Standard & Poor's in 2007 as an analyst in its Structured Credit Analytical Team. Prior to this, Poulin worked at BNP Paribas as an analyst within its Credit Portfolio Management Department. He joined BNP Paribas Asset Management as an intern in Paris in 2004 within the Euro Fixed Income Department.

Poulin will be responsible for analysing global high yield investment opportunities aligned to Newton's thematic investment process. He will report to Parmeshwar Chadha, who is the lead manager for over 1 billion pounds Sterling of assets under management in high yield bond positions.

Paul Brain, Newton's* global fixed income investment leader, comments, "Increased client interest in Newton's absolute return products has resulted in a higher demand to incorporate high yield bond assets into the portfolios. Parmeshwar and his colleague, Scott Freedman, have been instrumental in aiming to deliver strong investment returns for clients. As the growth in this area of our business continued, it became clear that we needed to appoint a new team member who had an in-depth knowledge of high yield fixed income investing. We are confident Sebastien will be a valuable addition to our team."
