American Express has launched the American Express Payment Gateway, a payment service provider solution, developed in conjunction with Transaction Network Services (TNS), which offers a single-source mechanism for merchants who want to introduce online payment functionality.
The solution allows businesses to quickly introduce the ability to manage e-commerce and other card-not-present (CNP) transactions and provides the associated fraud and card data security protocols (PCI DSS) for those transactions.
The Amex Payment Gateway supports all major card brands and payment types, asset the partners, and can handle multiple currencies across more than 120 nations meeting local acquirer connectivity needs. It will typically be used on a managed services basis and includes Accertify's fraud management solution and cardholder authentication tools, alongside TNS' security token solution.
"Through our relationship with merchants, we know they are looking for a more reliable, global and standalone e-commerce payment solution," said Suzan Kereere, senior vice president and general manager for the global network business at American Express. "We are delighted to work with TNS to address this need. The American Express Payment Gateway will enable businesses to focus their efforts on expanding their market reach, while we manage the processing, security and service behind online card acceptance."
