The Spaulding Group Appoints Chief Ethics Officer and Assistant Ethics Officer; Publishes Standards of Practice Handbook
Somerset, NJ - 3 October 2011
The Spaulding Group, Inc. (TSG) announced today the creation of two new positions within the firm, Chief Ethics Officer and Assistant Ethics Officer, as well as the publication of the firm's Standards of Practice Handbook.
John D. Simpson, CIPM, Senior Vice President and head of the firm's west coast operations, will assume the role of Chief Ethics Officer, while Jed Schneider, CIPM, FRM, Senior Vice President and head of TSG's verification practice, will be the firm's Assistant Ethics Officer.
"We regularly come in contact with a great deal of sensitive information from our consulting and verification practices, and it's critically important that all members of our firm understand its sensitivity," said David Spaulding, the firm's Founder and President. "The Standards of Practice Handbook defines the rules we expect all employees to abide by. They are based extensively on CFA Institute materials, which we consider to be excellent. We freely borrowed a great deal from their documents, adjusting the material as necessary for our needs."
"To carry this further, we decided to create these two new positions, and appoint John and Jed to these roles because of their experience, expertise, and professionalism," said Patrick Fowler, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "It's important to have individuals to turn to in the event a situation arises where guidance is needed, as well as to ensure that our policies are followed."
