Avanza Bank Extends Its Relationship with SunGard to Leverage Cloud Computing in Front Arena

Avanza Bank, a Swedish retail broker, has extended its relationship with SunGard’s Front Arena, a solution for cross-asset electronic trading and position control, to help support increasing transaction volumes and business growth.

Performance is a critical challenge in today’s volatile market. A customer since 1999, Avanza Bank will implement a new version of Front Arena that leverages cloud technology to help remove performance bottlenecks. Incorporating cloud technology also provides linear scalability, which helps customers scale Front Arena up or down at a predictable cost.

The pre-trade risk functionality helps Avanza Bank to calculate accurate trading permission and restriction in real time, giving their clients maximum trading capacity. Avanza Bank is already taking advantage of Front Arena’s smart order routing functionality, best execution capabilities, and gateways that are designed to handle high volume retail order flows.

Juerg Hunziker, president of SunGard’s Front Arena and Adaptiv business units, said, “As businesses grow and add new users, systems are being put under pressure.
