The high performance benchmark was conducted using Temenosâ real-world banking simulation of 25 million accounts and utilised a full rack Oracle Exadata Database Machine in place of a âconventional' configuration of multiple server and storage racks. The benchmark demonstrates the ability of Oracleâs Exadata platform to comfortably support the highest banking volumes for T24.
Temenos also announced that it will be extending the benefits of its packaged core banking software by offering clients Oracle hardware, including Oracle Exadata pre-configured to support their T24 implementation. The combination of hardware, database, platform software and core banking application helps reduce cost and risk for banks embarking on a legacy renewal programme. T24 configured with Oracle Exadata will enable medium -and large scale banks to take advantage of T24âs rich, pre-packaged functionality, utilizing Oracleâs highly efficient, secure and fault-tolerant Oracle Exadata platform.
Stephen Boyle, Group VP ISV and OEM Alliances at Oracle Corp., commented: âThe Oracle Exadata Database Machine is a prime example of extreme performance with considerable gains that can be achieved by engineering Oracle software and hardware together. By running Temenos T24 with the Oracle Exadata Database Machine, customers can derive high levels of performance, while lowering risk and total cost of ownership for Temenos customers. As a result, banks using the combined solution will be able to provision scalable and reliable database services quickly, to address their performance needs both now and in the future.â
Andreas Andreades, CEO, Temenos, commented: âThis benchmark illustrates outstanding results which show that Temenos on Oracle Exadata can deliver a high performance and highly cost effective solution to the worldâs largest banks. Combining T24 with the Oracle Exadata Database Machine extends the many benefits of our highly efficient core banking system to the full stack, increasing the already compelling business case for core system renovation and fully exploiting the cost benefits of market leading Oracleâs Exadata platform. We are delighted to be building on our relationship with Oracle to offer this exciting solution to the banking market which underscores our strategy to be the preferred core banking solutions provider for Oracle platformsâ.
