InvestTech Systems Consulting Assists Investment Management Firm With A Successful Accounting Data Conversion Using Eagle STAR® and PACE™
Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Toronto - 22 February 2011
InvestTech Systems Consulting, Inc., the leading Investment Technology and Investment Operations consulting firm for institutional investment managers, recently completed a series of investment accounting data conversion projects for a $10 billion asset manager of pension funds, endowments, foundations and high net worth individuals. These engagements included a currency conversion, as well as a change in accounting methods within the Eagle Investment Systems platform.
The InvestTech team systematically rebuilt multiple portfolios to accommodate changes in an account’s base currency in Eagle STAR® and to update accounting methodologies. The project involved reposting portfolio transaction activity, integrating currency forwards into the portfolio, and reconciling data to custodian records. The InvestTech consultants also created new reports for return calculations to account for the currency change, as well as the inclusion of currency forwards in the Eagle PACE™ Performance calculations.
As part of the process, the InvestTech team worked with the client’s operations group to systematically process portfolio transactions from inception, accurately reflect corporate action activity, and reconcile the portfolio against custodian records.
Kevin Coffin, InvestTech Managing Director who oversaw the project work, commented, “This tactical data conversion project was a great example of InvestTech’s investment accounting knowledge and our capability to add value to our client’s investment operations and performance measurement teams.” Mr. Coffin added, “A number of our clients continue to utilize our knowledge of the leading investment systems to supplement their middle and back office operations teams and assist with both critical and complex tasks.”
