Brisa, Portugal, Increases Shareholder Voting By Up To 15% Via Broadridge's International Shareholder Communications (ISC) Programme Brisa to Enter Its Third Consecutive Year as ISC Client

17 February 2009

Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:BR) today announced that Brisa Auto Estradas de Portugal, S.A., has increased shareholder voting at its meetings by 10%-15% annually since becoming a client of Broadridge's ISC programme in 2007. Broadridge’s ISC Programme allows for an earlier receipt of proxy information by shareholders and increased oversight of the process by the issuer. Brisa is one of the largest tolled motorway operators in the world and the largest transport infrastructure company in Portugal.

Founded in 1972, Brisa operates 17 toll roads that link Portugal from north to south and east to west and also controls and operates a concession in Denver, Colorado. Brisa has been recently awarded other concessions in Portugal and holds 17.9% stake in the Brazilian CCR which owns a concession portfolio of 9 motorways. In addition to its highway operations, Brisa provides roadside assistance, car inspection services, and creates toll collection systems. Brisa's shares are quoted on Euronext Lisbon, as part of the main index, the PSI-20; the Euronext 100, which includes the largest companies in France; Holland, Belgium and Portugal, and the FTSE4Good index, the reference index for social responsibility.

Broadridge's ISC Programme addresses the increased demand for corporations to ensure a controlled, direct, efficient, interactive and transparent communication process with shareholders by offering a specialised proxy processing service directly to corporations or their agents. The process includes distribution of the general meeting announcement to shareholders, as well as vote collection, processing, and reporting. Broadridge has processed more than 77 million shares for Brisa since 2007.

“We are very pleased to enter into the third year of our relationship with Broadridge,” remarked Tiago Melo, Company Secretary, Brisa. “We have seen a significant improvement in organisation and meeting participation, which has enhanced our overall shareholder communications process.”

“Brisa has enabled the International Shareholder Communications Programme to enter the Portuguese market,” said Dogan Sevil, Director of International Business Development, Broadridge. “We will soon be processing their third consecutive general meeting and are proud to have been able to positively impact their shareholder communications.”
