Coexis benchmark proves enterprise scale on a tiny Linux footprint for Syn~SettlementsLondon and New York - 22 October 2007Coexis, a global IT provider of next generation software for capital markets has announced new benchmark results showing high performance and linear scalability of Syn~Settlements on an open source Linux/HP platform with just six X86 processors (including the database server).
Coexis began measuring the performance of Syn~ in benchmarks ten years ago, usually at the request of prospective clients keen to see evidence of straight through processing (STP) rates on particular hardware deployments. In that time the emphasis for hardware has shifted from an initial concentration on large-scale ‘enterprise’ SMP (symmetric multiprocessing) machines through mid-range Unix servers to larger numbers of smaller x86-based architectures and Linux-based operating systems. “The measured performance of Syn~ clearly demonstrates an upward trend, to the extent that the system deployed in the current exercise upon a handful of x86 Linux machines considerably exceeded the best previously recorded figures upon Solaris/UltraSparc IV.in March 2005,” says Donal O’Brien, business development director of Coexis Limited. |
