Thomson Financial, an operating unit of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) and leading provider of information and technology solutions to the worldwide financial community, today announced the launch of Thomson Credit Analysis, which is integrated into its Thomson ONE platform.
The increased focus on credit and the explosive growth in Credit Default Swaps (CDS) as a financial instrument indicate that the market is continually looking for new opportunities in which to invest. The Thomson Credit Analysis solution provides an end-to-end workflow package to aid credit analysts, risk managers and managers of multi-asset funds.
The solutionâs cross-asset class capabilities offer a unique link between the corporate bond, CDS and equity of an issuer, giving a relative value perspective across the complete capital structure of the firm. Thomson Credit Analysis is integrated within Thomson ONE, which combines Thomson Datastreamâs encyclopedic databases with Thomson Financialâs global real-time market data and news, extensive estimates, research and fundamental content.
Thomson Credit Analysis provides an easy-to-use, intuitive search tool that enables users to screen available bonds, CDS and indices. They can then navigate from a list of potential investments to the terms and conditions of a chosen bond and to the credit ratios of its issuer. The offering is further enhanced by the inclusion of Thomson TradeWebâs market leading indicative pricing, meeting the demand from traditional and non-traditional clients for multi-asset analytical capabilities on one integrated platform, spanning equities, fixed income, futures, options and foreign exchange.
Eric Frank, Global Managing Director, Investment Management at Thomson Financial commented: âAs global markets become more efficient, asset managers are looking for tools that help them identify new sources of alpha. We have created a unique solution that meets this need by providing to our clients a global multi-asset solution for the analysis of equities, debt, and derivatives on a single platform.â
Thomas Aubrey, Investment Management Director, Thomson Financial concluded: âOur Credit Analysis capability extends the successful Thomson ONE application suite and will help users stay abreast of the changing investment landscape, spot trends and identify investment opportunities. We have ensured that at its core, Thomson Credit Analysis combines a powerful screening capability with a variety of analytical tools, including time-series charting, bond calculators and real time-indicative pricing to allow asset managers to evaluate securities and make the best possible investment decisionâ.
