NEW YORK, NY, December 14, 2004 - Kestrel Technologies announced today the release of the latest version of its KonneKT connectivity appliance. This product, called Qwik-KonneKT, is a new self-installing version of the company’s KonneKT family of connectivity products that currently support all common communications protocols such as FIX 4.X; XML; Bloomberg MPF, CRF, PF; and many others. Incorporating all the functionality of the standard product, Qwik- onneKT minimizes the impact of achieving connectivity on the customer's IT group. It also provides them more choices in terms of hardware and software than are currently available with Kestrel's existing product line.
According to Christian Kennedy, CTO of Kestrel, "Qwik-KonneKT consists of a bootable CDROM and a USB keychain storage device. The customer simply places the CDROM in the drive of the X86 platform of their choice, installs the USB key into an available port, and boots the machine. Qwik-KonneKT begins by creating a file system on the machine's hard drive to store persistent data and audit trail information and then performs a series of initial configuration steps based on the contents of the USB key. Once these operations have been completed, the customer can set up and test the system as he desires via the browser of his choice."
"The beauty of this is that the customer can establish a fully functioning KonneKT link between disparate trading ystems such as Kestrel’s RAPTr Trading System or Bloomberg’s TOMS/POMS and TradeWeb or the futures exchanges without having to deal with installing or maintaining an operating system, a database or any other piece of software. If the customer subsequently wants to add connectivity to another ECN, exchange or legacy system (e.g., MarketAxess, ValuBond or ADP), Kestrel will simply overnight a new USB key containing the customer's latest configuration information and they're good to go. Qwik- KonneKT supports the full range of KonneKT features such as price tiering, clustering, goal-seeking, fault tolerance, SNMP integration, alerts, remote monitoring, and remote updates."
Qwik-KonneKT will be available for broad distribution with full support for testing and certification beginning in mid January 2005.
