Capitec banks on Mosaic Software

London, 30 April 2002 – Mosaic Software, global processing solutions provider, today announced that their Postilion product will be used to drive all of Capitec Bank’s banking functionality in terms of ATM terminals and bank branch tellers. Postilion Office, a product that adds a wide range of back office
administrative functionality to Postilion’s online performance, will be used for reconciliation with MasterCard and the bank’s back-end system.

Capitec Bank is an innovative new bank in South Africa, focusing on providing accessible, convenient and affordable banking services via a platform that is both inexpensive and supports quality client service. They are setting their sights on the emerging market and are committed to giving the unbanked market
access to banking services. Apart from receiving ATM cards, account holders are able to make use of savings and loan services. Capitec Bank is progressive in their business approach, which shows in their application of a "paperless banking" model. Throughout the banking process, paper is only involved in the
initial application. After the applicant’s details have been captured on the bank’s administration network, there is no further need for paper control systems. New account holders are issued with a bank card and PIN number instantly at a Capitec branch, giving them immediate access to their new bank account via the ATM.
