HARTFORD, Conn. - April 29, 2002 - InsuritySM, a ChoicePoint(r) company (NYSE: CPS), has signed a licensing agreement with Standard Underwriters Network, Inc. (SUN). SUN now processes policies in an ASP (Application Service Provider) environment provided by Insurity's Outsourcing Services. SUN accesses Insurity's Commercial Intellisys(r) system via the Internet to process policies for Commercial Business Owners, Automobile, Garage, Package, Property, General Liability, Inland Marine, and Crime coverages.
"We chose Commercial Intellisys based on Insurity's experience in the industry and the functionality of their policy system," said David Bourneuf, senior vice president for SUN. "The Insurity team worked very hard to get us up and running in fewer than 60 days. The system already has increased our productivity, and it will continue to do so. We are now producing commercial lines policies more efficiently and cost-effectively." In addition to hosting SUN's policy-processing system, Insurity will provide all regulatory maintenance updates, monitor all applications, and manage all network activities.
Commercial Intellisys provides commercial Property & Casualty policy rating, issuance, and statistical coding for all lines of business in all 50 states. The system also provides MVRs, credit scores, telephone verification, and/or on-site surveys; logical information-ordering that allows underwriters to review initial information before requesting additional verification; and reference materials that provide information such as city-file features, NCCI manuals, NAIC codes, address verifications, and SICs.
"Insurity's expansion in technology and outsourcing services has widened our business opportunities," said Jeffrey Glazer, executive vice president for Insurity. "Our ability to understand the uniqueness of SUN's business, and to build a policy processing system which was quickly deployed in a true Internet environment, is a win-win for both parties. I believe we are going to see even more rapid adoption of ASP solutions such as this, which are only viable if the vendor has financial stability and a strong positive reputation."
