Wilco interfaces its Tarot retail stockbroking solution with ADP’s ICS Europe

Wilco International, a subsidiary of Automatic Data Processing (NYSE: ADP), has developed a two-way interface between its retail and private client stockbroking system, Tarot, and ADP’s ICS Europe solution for shareholder communications.

Brokers using Tarot can now provide an additional service to their nominee clients holding stock in a company, enabling them to receive shareholder communications including voting tools, even though the nominee client is not known to the company as a shareholder.

The interface will enable existing and prospective Tarot users to benefit from full shareholder communications including proxy voting, annual reports and interim mailings for all US and Canadian securities and those UK securities where the issuer covers the cost of such communication.

"This new interface enables our Tarot customers to add value to their client services, and also facilitates a greater level of corporate governance industry-wide," said Donal O’Brien, IT Director, Wilco International and co-CTO, ADP Brokerage Services Group.

The interface will enable ICS Europe to request a shareholder list from the broker via Tarot whenever a shareholder communication is being made. Tarot will respond by sending shareholder records specific to the required communication to ICS Europe. Delivery to these shareholders can be electronic or physical, according to shareholder preference and the availability of digitised materials from issuers. Electronic delivery can be made via ProxyEdge®, ADP’s proprietary solution, via the Internet using ADP’s ProxyEdge Lite product, or via e-mail.

"The interfacing of these two leading products exemplifies our commitment to add value through our range of complementary international products," said O’Brien.
